East Meets West

New Westminster Symphony Orchestra presents its final concert of the season on May 17 at 7:30pm at Massey Theatre, 735 Eighth Avenue, New Westminster, BC, a unique concert celebrating the fusion of Iranian and Western classical traditions.

This special concert, presented in collaboration with the Iranian Arts Centre, and conducted by the esteemed Jin Zhang, highlights the works of acclaimed Iranian composer Kambiz Roshanravan.

Known for his masterful ability to blend Iranian folk melodies with Western classical orchestration, Roshanravan’s compositions promise a deeply moving and innovative musical experience. Adding to the evening’s magic, we are honoured to present Sina Sarlak, one of Iran’s most beloved vocalists. His powerful and soulful voice, paired with the symphonic arrangements, will bring a fresh and captivating dimension to this cross-cultural collaboration.
